Setup, per-tier guidance, image organization patterns, and the Hive explained.
1. Getting started
Shopify
- Install DripSync from the Shopify App Store.
- Connect Google Drive - Settings → connect your Google account. Read-only access.
- Pick your product images folder - one root folder. All subfolders are scanned.
- Run matching - Dashboard → "Run AI Mapping". DripSync pulls your products, reads your Drive, suggests matches.
- Review and push - Products page. Top-5 suggestions per product. Approve, reorder, push.
WooCommerce
- Download the DripSync plugin from dripsync.elytron.in/download and install in WP Admin.
- Connect your store - WP Admin → DripSync → "Connect Now". Generates API keys and links to DripSync.
- Connect Google Drive + pick folder (same as Shopify step 2-3).
- Run matching, then review and push (same as Shopify step 4-5).
Auto-trial: You get 14 days on Master tier the moment you install. No card required. After 14 days you drop to Novice (free) - your work stays in place, you just cap at 500 mappings/month until you subscribe to a paid tier.
2. Getting the most out of each tier
Three tiers, three different bets on how clean your image library and product data already are.
What counts as a "mapping"?
A mapping is one product or one variant that DripSync matches images to. Your monthly plan limit is counted in mappings, not images.
- A simple product (no variants) that gets matched = 1 mapping.
- A product with 3 variants, where each variant gets its own image = 4 mappings (1 for the product + 1 per variant).
- Re-running matching on the same product later counts again - each AI matching pass consumes mappings for the products and variants it processes.
This is separate from your Drive folder image limit (how many source photos can sit in your connected Drive folder). A single Drive image can be matched to many products without using extra mappings - the mapping count is about how many products/variants DripSync works on, not how many photos you store. Novice includes 500 mappings/month and a 500-image Drive folder; Pro and Master raise both.
Novice (free, 500 mappings/month)
Novice matches by filename, folder path, and product title. It works best when your files are reasonably named.
Tips:
- Name files like the product:
blue-oxford-shirt-medium.jpg beats IMG_2401.jpg. - Use folder names as collection signals:
/summer-2026/ tells the matcher these images belong to your Summer collection products. - Include the product title or SKU in the filename for the highest-confidence matches.
- If you have a small catalog (under ~100 products), Novice may be all you need.
Pro ($19/month, 4,000 mappings/month)
Pro adds matching on tags, descriptions, vendor, collection, SKU, and barcode. It absorbs messy filenames as long as your Shopify product data is richer.
Tips:
- Enrich your Shopify product tags. Tags like
color:blue, material:cotton, fit:slim become matching signals. - Fill in vendor and product type fields - Pro uses them.
- If you use SKU prefixes in filenames (e.g.
SHIRT-0142-front.jpg), Pro will match exactly even when descriptions are sparse. - Best fit: 100-1,000 product catalogs where filenames are inconsistent but your Shopify data is reasonably complete.
Master ($99/month, 20,000 mappings/month + AI vision)
Master runs Gemini AI vision on every image. It reads the actual image content - filenames become irrelevant.
Tips:
- Use Master if filenames don't help (camera-default names like
IMG_2401.jpg). - Use Master if you're in apparel, jewelry, furniture, or any category where the IMAGE matters more than metadata.
- Photo quality matters more here than filename. Clean backgrounds, good lighting, and front-facing hero shots score higher.
- Master picks the hero image automatically using an industry-aware ranking. You can override per product.
- Master is required for the AI-only opt-in sweeteners: alt text generation, descriptive image rename, hero quality score, multi-angle gap detection.
3. How to organize your Drive folder
Any folder structure works. These three patterns tend to produce the highest match accuracy:
Pattern A: organized by collection
/products/
/summer-2026/
oxford-shirt-blue-M.jpg
oxford-shirt-blue-L.jpg
oxford-shirt-cream-M.jpg
...
/winter-2026/
wool-coat-black-L.jpg
...Best for apparel and seasonal catalogs. Folder names act as collection signals; filenames carry product + variant info.
Pattern B: SKU-prefixed
/all-products/
RING-0142-front.jpg
RING-0142-side.jpg
RING-0142-model.jpg
EARR-0233-front.jpg
EARR-0233-flat.jpg
...
Best for jewelry, accessories, or any catalog where products have stable SKUs. Pro tier matches the SKU prefix exactly; the angle suffix (front/side/model) helps with hero selection on Master.
Pattern C: photoshoot-batched (Master only)
/photoshoots/
/april-2026/
IMG_2401.jpg
IMG_2402.jpg
DSC_0099.jpg
...
/june-2026/
...The "I don't rename my files" pattern. Only works on Master tier - AI vision reads the actual images and ignores filenames. Common for furniture, home goods, food.
Don't worry about perfection. DripSync handles mixed patterns, weird filenames, files in the wrong folder. The above patterns just make it easier on Novice and Pro; Master tier works regardless.
4. The Hive (opt-in)
The Hive is an opt-in feature where DripSync stores share image-strategy data, in pseudonymized form, to power category benchmarks and a few extras that make DripSync more useful for you.
One decision: opt in or don't. When you opt in, everything below unlocks. Some features need Master tier (they use AI vision). All others apply to every tier.
What you get when you opt in
Master tier features (need AI vision)
- AI-generated alt text on pushed images - vision-grounded descriptions for accessibility and image search. Choose overwrite or append-to-existing.
- Descriptive image rename on first push -
{handle}-{color}-{angle}.webp. Only renames new uploads (never breaks existing URLs). - Hero image quality score with concrete improvement suggestions per product.
- Multi-angle gap detection - we tell you which products in your catalog are missing the angles other stores in your category typically include.
Available to every tier (auto-on, toggle off if you want)
- WebP conversion on push - smaller files, faster pages. Especially valuable for WooCommerce stores.
- IPTC metadata embedding - keywords and descriptions embedded in the image file itself for image-search visibility.
- C2PA Content Credentials + AI provenance - cryptographically signed disclosure when AI touched an image. Forward-compatible with EU AI Act and CA SB942 (effective 2026).
- Image-strategy benchmarks for your category - "Stores in your category average 3.4 images per variant; you average 1.2."
- Asset library completeness check - finds variants in your catalog that have zero images.
- Canonical product matching - when DripSync detects a barcode in your image, we link to the canonical product record across the Network so you can auto-fill brand, dimensions, category.
All features are individually toggleable in Settings after you opt in. Master features stay grayed out on Novice and Pro until you upgrade.
The honest version: Network benchmarks need other stores in your category to also be opted in. We seed the Network with category reference data from public storefronts to make benchmarks useful from day one - clearly labeled as "category reference" not "from merchants like you" so you know what you're looking at.
5. What we share, what we never share
If you're not opted in to the Hive, DripSync uses your data only to deliver matching and push services to you - nothing leaves your account.
If you opt in to the Network, here's exactly what flows into the shared graph and what doesn't:
| We share | We never share |
|---|
| Catalog data: product titles, types, tags, descriptions, variant attributes | Raw image files (bytes) |
| Gemini-extracted image attributes (angle, composition, background type) for images you approved and pushed | Image embeddings or full Gemini analysis text |
| Detected product barcodes (GTIN/EAN/UPC) from images | Drive folder contents you have NOT pushed to your store |
| The image-to-product mapping graph (which image is hero for which product) | Customer data, orders, payment data (we never see these) |
How we identify you in the graph
Your store domain is hashed with SHA-256 before joining the graph - there's no reversible link back to your store from the shared data. Other merchants can never see your raw product information, only inference outputs derived from the graph.
Opting out
Toggle the Network OFF in Settings at any time. Your contribution to the graph is removed within 30 days. Pseudonymized aggregates that no longer include your specific data stay - we can't "undo" averages that mixed your data with hundreds of others. Network benchmarks you've already seen will continue to be accurate; new benchmarks compute without your data.

6. Troubleshooting
"My matches look weak"
By tier:
- Novice: Your filenames don't match product titles. Rename files to include the product name, or upgrade to Pro for tag/SKU/description matching.
- Pro: Your Shopify product data is sparse. Fill in tags, descriptions, vendor, SKU. Each adds matching signal.
- Master: Photo quality or relevance is the issue. AI vision can only see what's in the photo. Front-facing, well-lit, single-product shots score highest.
"DripSync didn't find some images in my Drive folder"
- Confirm Google Drive is connected (Settings → Google Drive). If the connection has expired, reconnect.
- Confirm the folder you selected actually contains the images. Subfolders are scanned automatically.
- Only image files are processed (JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC). PDFs, docs, and videos are skipped.
"Push to store failed"
- Check the Activity Log in the dashboard. The error message names the specific product/image.
- Common causes: Shopify rate limit (we auto-retry), invalid image (DripSync skips and reports), expired authentication (reconnect).
- If push affects existing platform images (replace vs append behavior), check Settings → Push Behavior.
"I hit my mapping cap mid-month"
- Mapping cap resets every 30 days from your billing anchor.
- Upgrading tier mid-cycle adds the new cap to your current usage (you don't lose what's already counted).
- Apply-AI-Order (re-ranking already-suggested images) doesn't consume mapping units - re-rank freely.
- Re-approving an existing suggestion doesn't consume mapping units either.
